What is this?

Or more importantly, what is it a part of that which will be?
I am thinking about calling it "The Davis" after the person that inspired me to make it and made me one similar using his craft.

    chain links and some wound steel cable, unless you're getting fancy and that's silver cable

    It is not Chain Mail - but it could be a pretty cool version of it if I worked it for a long time
